Christian Santamaría serves as an ethanol consultant for the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council in Mexico. In this role, he supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at promoting the adoption of biofuels and bioproducts, working closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, academia, and the media. His responsibilities include coordinating technical outreach programs, public affairs initiatives, policy engagement activities, and educational campaigns that highlight the environmental, economic, and social benefits of bioenergy solutions.
Prior to joining the Council, Santamaría developed a career in the energy industry, gaining extensive experience in oil and gas production operations, project management, and sustainability initiatives. His work has focused on production optimization, emissions reduction strategies, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), methane management, and the deployment of innovative technologies across the energy value chain. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and environmental performance.
Santamaría holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering and a master’s degree in reservoir engineering.
