Ethanol

In September, the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) organized a U.S.-Philippine trade promotion mission, in coordination with the Philippines Department of Agriculture (DOA), to support the U.S. ethanol industry and Filipino ethanol supply chain as the country moves toward a policy allowing gasoline to be blended with 20 percent ethanol (E20).

In May, the White House issued a statement announcing a trade deal aimed at improving U.S. companies’ access to markets in the United Kingdom (U.K.), including a major victory for U.S. farmers and U.S. ethanol producers. 

Policy changes in Malaysia and Vietnam last year opened significant market opportunities for U.S. producers, underscoring the region’s support for ethanol’s utility as a clean, affordable energy source.
