Afi Kpadenou joined the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) as its new accounting coordinator, based in the organization’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, this week.
In this role, Kpadenou will primarily support the finance department by processing payment-related tasks – such as ensuring complete documentation – and reconciling credit card transactions and assisting the general daily operation of the finance department.
“Afi brings practical accounting experience supporting accounts payable processing, reconciliations, expense reviews and month-end close activities,” said Addis Tilahun, USGBC director of finance.
“She will instantly solidify the finance department’s team and facilitate the Council’s continued outstanding financial health and diligent adherence to accounting procedures.”
Before joining the Council, she served as an accountant at Orisme and Associates, handling daily accounting tasks including payment and accounts receivable-related activities, bank reconciliation and audit preparation and financial documentation.
Kpadenou holds an associate’s degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Lomé and a bachelor’s degree in data science from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
